I enjoy the sound choices a lot. Very relaxing and easy on the ears. I really don't see why anyone needs to have a set beat or arrangment in their songs. What's the point of music if you're only gonna create something that sounds "normal" or "proper" to everyone else?

I loved it overall! If I'm being honest, I much preferred the atmosphere of the first half of the song personally. I'd love to hear an entire song with that kind of relaxed feeling and really unique percussion!

Haha... See, the first half is pretty much a traditional johnfn song, the second half is the new stuff. So I'm not too surprised you enjoyed the first half more, it's my standard fare ;-) Though this is the risk with being experimental, it exposes new guys to stuff that isn't top notch. Oh well though :P

[Orchestra Help]

Sounds good so far! I'd like to recommend that you give the soundtrack of Ni No Kuni a listen. Especially "Field" and "Main Theme". I feel like you might get some inspiration there. That soundtrack is full of big openings like this and my mind immediately went to those songs after hearing this. You can find the whole soundtrack on YouTube I believe. Just an idea! ^_^
